Rescue Dog Reverses Aging with New Diet and Exercise
Jimmy recently adopted a rescue dog named Squishy, who had struggled with weight issues. When Squishy first came home, she weighed 59 pounds and could only move slowly. After walking just 200 to 300 yards, she was unable to continue.
Squishy faced joint complications due to her weight, but Jimmy was determined to help her lose as much as possible.
Initially, they went for walks together, but as Squishy’s condition worsened, Jimmy had to carry her home when she could no longer walk.
Determined to make a difference, Jimmy began waking up at 3 A.M. to ensure Squishy got her exercise.
They started with runs five times a week, which was tough for Squishy initially. As her fitness improved, Jimmy gradually increased the intensity of the workouts, incorporating stretching exercises to prevent potential side effects from her previously sedentary lifestyle.
Jimmy was focused on keeping Squishy’s joints healthy and allowing her to move comfortably. As a result, Squishy began to show significant improvements, becoming more active and joyful.
Her new diet, which minimized snacks, also contributed to her progress. They avoided falling into a monotonous routine, always aiming for better results.
Over time, Squishy adapted to longer runs and, after three years of dedicated effort, reached her goal weight of 30 pounds by her 12th birthday.
Jimmy was thrilled with Squishy’s transformation. She became more sociable with other dogs and now enjoys a healthier life.
