In South Africa, an orange tabby, Kathryn was discovered living alone in an empty rental apartment after the new tenants could not save her newborn kittens.

Adopted by Izelle Marallich, chairperson of Langebaan Animal Care, Kathryn longed for the family she had lost.

Kathryn fearlessly embraced Izelle’s foster dogs despite her past, yearning for love and companionship.

However, her grief for her lost kittens persisted until an orphaned litter of puppies entered their lives.

Instantly bonding with the pups, Kathryn cared for them as if they were hers. She called to them when hungry, comforted them with gentle licks, and even nursed them, eventually earning their trust and companionship.

Kathryn’s restless nights and cries ceased as she dedicated herself to caring for her adopted puppies, becoming an overprotective and devoted mother.

Despite the puppies finding forever homes, Kathryn’s nurturing instincts remained strong, extending to two orphaned kittens.

While many express interest in adopting Kathryn, Izelle is unwilling to part with her, recognizing her exceptional compassion and dedication to caring for orphaned animals.
