Rescue Dog Finds a Unique Companion in Adorable Little Sister

Nikki Carvey, the founder of Road Dogs & Rescue, recently brought a genetically unusual dog to safety from a meat truck in China.

The rescue organization Slaughterhouse Survivors sent Nikki a photo of the dog, who appeared almost alien-like against the night sky.

Determined to help, Nikki adopted the dog, naming him Mork. Initially, Mork was in poor health, and the rescuers were doubtful he would survive. Road Dogs & Rescue Volunteers stepped in, personally transporting Mork back to safety.

Upon arrival, Mork weighed just 12.2 pounds and was extremely underweight, with a worn appearance and an oversized face with noticeable folds. His small head and ears gave him a resemblance to “Baby Yoda” from Star Wars.

Mork also had a unique trait—his tongue would only extend in one direction. Nikki provided him with care and nutrition, and after he regained his strength, she adopted him.

Shortly after, Merrybelle joined the rescue at just 5 weeks old. Like Mork, Merrybelle had features that made her look unusual, with a resemblance to an alien. The two quickly became inseparable, although Merrybelle was particularly devoted to Mork.

She often sought his company and would sit by his side. Despite Mork’s preference for personal space, he tolerated Merrybelle’s affectionate presence.

Merrybelle, who has special needs due to hydrocephalus, found a loving home with Nikki and Mork. Both dogs adjusted well to their new environment, and Mork gradually grew more comfortable and open with Nikki, appreciating the safety and care she provided.
