Abandoned Dogs Rescued from Desert Find New Hope
Hope for Paws recently responded to a distress call about two dogs left behind in the desert. Alex Babcock and Joann Wiltz quickly headed to the scene to rescue them.
Upon arrival, they met Andrew, who had discovered the dogs while working nearby. Andrew, who had previously adopted a dog named Hippo from Hope for Paws, led the rescuers to the stranded animals.
The dogs were initially frightened and barked at the newcomers. To gain their trust, Alex and Joann offered them pieces of cheeseburger. The dogs, initially wary, couldn’t resist the tempting aroma and gradually approached the rescuers.
Named Ragnar and Ronin, the dogs were gently leashed by Alex and Joann. Despite their previous apprehension, the dogs responded positively, wagging their tails as they were handled.
The rescuers then guided the dogs into their van. Alex lured the dogs with more cheeseburger pieces and, with Andrew’s help, managed to secure Ronin in a large cage. They then placed Ragnar in another cage inside the van before heading to Los Angeles.
Upon arrival at the rescue center, Ragnar and Ronin enjoyed bubble baths and felt refreshed after cleaning.
They were then taken to LA Animal Rescue, where they settled comfortably. The two dogs enjoyed their time together, especially drinking from a small stream, and were soon ready to find their forever homes.
