A Unique Dog Finds a Loving Home After a Challenging Start
Woody’s Rough Beginning
According to SNARR Animal Rescue, Woody’s life took a difficult turn when another dog attacked him at just five weeks old.
Left to heal independently without veterinary care, Woody was later abandoned by his owner and tied up outside.
For six weeks, he survived thanks to the kindness of neighbors who fed him until SNARR discovered and rescued him.
A Fresh Start with SNARR
SNARR learned that Woody’s family had moved away, leaving him behind. “We made the decision to remove him from this loveless environment,” SNARR posted on Facebook.
Despite his distinctive appearance, Woody was in good health. “Woody looks different from other dogs, but that doesn’t bother us; it makes us love him even more.”
Woody’s Foster Home Experience
Woody’s rescuers quickly saw beyond his appearance and fell in love with his big heart. Jamie Bond, Woody’s foster mom, shared her first impression: “I had a fever the first day we got Woody, and he sensed something was wrong.
He stayed by my side the entire afternoon, ensuring I was safe.” Woody enjoys curling up in bed and resting his head on Jamie’s chest.
The Search for a Forever Home
At eight months old, Woody is catching up on lost “puppy” time and brings joy to those around him.
SNARR is determined to find the perfect home for Woody, a cleft-nosed dog who needs special care. “Woody, very cute, needs some love and work,” they wrote. He needs a home without cats as he likes to chase them and would do best in a house with only female residents.
Adoption Requirements
Currently living with four other dogs, Woody is thriving. He gets along well with children but would be better suited to a home with older dogs over 10 years old. While Woody isn’t aggressive, his size and occasional jumpiness make larger dogs a better fit.
Those interested in adopting Woody can fill out an application on the SNARR Northwest website.
A Happy Ending
In an update, SNARR joyfully announced that Woody had found a loving home after months of searching.
They shared pictures of Woody happily settling in with his new family and friends. SNARR extends their gratitude to Woody’s new family and wishes him all the best in his new life.
