Tiny Puppy Heals Depressed Mother Dog

When rescuers discovered Raisin, a tiny puppy with an eye infection and a gremlin-like appearance, they knew she needed a loving home.

Despite her vibrant personality, Raisin was critically ill when found. A vet confirmed that while Raisin could be saved, finding someone willing to adopt her might be challenging.

Fortunately, a mother dog named Daya was also in need of care. Rescued while appearing pregnant, Daya was devastated to find that her puppies were not present after a week. This loss left her deeply depressed.

Recognizing Daya’s need for emotional support, rescuers introduced her to Raisin. The Lovelucks, Katie and Nick, chose to foster both dogs after no one came forward to adopt them together.

Initially, Katie could barely see Raisin due to her small size. However, Daya immediately showed affection towards the puppy, grooming and licking her face and ears. Raisin responded kindly, which assured Katie that the pair would bond well.

Raisin’s presence profoundly impacted Daya, lifting her spirits and restoring her maternal instincts.

Daya embraced Raisin as her own, becoming protective and proud of her new “pup.” This companionship significantly improved both dogs’ well-being.

Eventually, Daya returned to her foster home, but Raisin remained with the Lovelucks. Her bond with Daya helped her connect with Charlie, the Lovelucks’ other dog.

Although Charlie, a large dog, was initially apprehensive around the tiny Raisin, he soon became her close friend once he recognized her strength and feistiness.

Raisin’s charm and small size made her a beloved presence. Even Charlie, who had no prior experience with puppies, developed nurturing qualities in his interactions with Raisin.
