Canadian Woman Pauses Vacation to Rescue Two Abandoned Dogs in Romania
Dogs are often considered man’s best friend, yet some endure neglect and cruelty. Fortunately, some individuals step in to give these dogs a second chance at life.
Juliana Carpino, a Canadian resident, recently demonstrated this compassion when she encountered two stray dogs in Romania, both showing signs of past abuse.
The first dog Juliana discovered was a black dog living in a field, while the second was found wandering near parked cars at a busy intersection.
The second dog, bearing a scar on his nose, approached Juliana immediately. Recognizing the signs of mistreatment, she named him Scar.
Without hesitation, Juliana picked him up and took him to her car. However, the black dog, whom she later named Shine, was more cautious and refused to come near.
Juliana noticed something tied around Shine’s neck, indicating that he too needed help. She promised Shine that she would return to rescue him.
Rescuing Shine proved challenging. For five days, Juliana tried to coax him out of the field. Finally, on the sixth day, Shine began to trust her and followed her out of the open field.
Though the two dogs were not close, Juliana observed that Shine and Scar seemed to recognize each other.
After ensuring their safety, Juliana brought both dogs back to Canada. The journey took 23 hours, and upon arrival, the dogs appeared surprised by their new surroundings.
While Shine quickly adapted to Juliana’s home, Scar was hesitant and needed some encouragement from Juliana and her family before he would enter the house. Despite the initial uncertainty, Juliana decided to adopt both dogs.
Juliana noticed distinct differences in their behavior: Scar preferred spending time outdoors like many other dogs, while Shine, with more human-like tendencies, enjoyed staying indoors.
Over time, the two dogs formed a strong bond, behaving like brothers and becoming inseparable. Juliana’s daughter also quickly connected with them.
Having endured so much pain in their lives, Scar and Shine showed immense gratitude for Juliana’s love and care, cherishing their new home and the fresh start it offered.
