While preparing her yard for the hurricane, a local woman noticed a thin white stray dog across the street.

The dog cautiously made its way to her porch after she called out. The intelligent animal even looked both ways for oncoming traffic before crossing the road.

Seeing the dog’s poor condition, the woman immediately brought food and water. The hungry dog devoured three bowls of food and drank two cups of water before pausing to catch her breath.

Recognizing that the storm was imminent and the dog could not be left outside, the woman brought the stray into her home.

Initially hesitant, the dog eventually entered the house. She was in dire shape, covered in dirt and feces, with a foul odor and painful mats tangled in her fur.

Her paw was even bleeding. The woman attempted to bathe the dog, but the frightened animal barked and cried, making the process difficult. After some struggle, she cleaned part of the dog’s back before taking a break.

Over four hours, the woman worked tirelessly to clean and groom the dog. She first had to shave away the tar-stuck fur before successfully scrubbing the dog into a more presentable state.
