Husky Trapped in Sewer Rescued by Lexington Animal Control
Animal control officers in Lexington, Kentucky, recently responded to an unusual call about a husky stuck in a storm drain.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a large husky named Sebastian wedged beneath the road, peeking through a crack in the concrete.
A Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control representative shared with The Dodo, “We’re not exactly sure how he got there, but it’s likely he entered through a drain pipe and couldn’t figure out how to get back out.”
Despite being trapped, Sebastian remained in good spirits. Officers quickly began removing the drain cover to help free him.
“Sebastian must have been hoping to meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” the rescue team joked in a Facebook post about the incident. “Instead, he met a couple of our Animal Control Officers!”
Soon, Sebastian was safely out of the drain and back on solid ground.
After returning to the animal control facility, officers contacted Sebastian’s worried family, who were thrilled to learn he was safe.
They made arrangements to pick him up as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Sebastian enjoyed making new friends at the facility, seemingly unaware of the trouble he had caused.
“He had a great time during the rescue and loved his stay with us,” the representative added. “I’d happily do it all over again.”
