Clever Dog Learns to ‘Talk’ with Custom Soundboard Created by Her Owner (VIDEO)
Christina Hunger, a speech pathologist from California, has gained attention for her remarkable approach to canine communication. She has successfully taught her dog, Stella, to communicate without barking by using a special soundboard.
Stella, a mix of Catahoula and Blue Heeler breeds, is a highly intelligent dog. With Christina’s help, she now expresses her needs and emotions by pressing buttons on a soundboard her owner created.

This device features large, colorful buttons, each representing a specific word, such as “water,” “toy,” “outside,” or even emotions like “happy” and “angry.”
Christina shares Stella’s progress online, where the dog has become known for her impressive ability to “talk.”
Stella has learned to use 29 words to ask for water, playtime, or express her desire to go outside.
The dog’s communication resembles a toddler learning to speak, combining individual words to form simple sentences by pressing the buttons with her paws.
What began as a small experiment has evolved into an innovative way of bridging communication between animals and humans.
Christina’s soundboard has given Stella a voice, strengthening their bond and inspiring others to explore similar possibilities with their pets.
