Rescued Elderly Dog Makes Remarkable Recovery After Being Found in Drain

Animal Aid Unlimited recently rescued an elderly dog named Shabaash, who was found trapped in a sewer drain and unable to move. After receiving a call about the distressed dog, the team quickly set out to save him.

Shabaash, who was toothless, arthritic, and suffering from a large wound on his back infested with maggots, had collapsed in the drain, likely seeking relief from his severe pain. His condition was dire, and he was visibly old and weak.

The rescue team carefully extracted Shabaash from the drain and transported him to their veterinary clinic. There, they immediately administered painkillers and an IV to address his maggot-infested wound.

In a few weeks, Shabaash’s condition improved dramatically. His wound healed completely, and he began eating well, much to the relief of his rescuers. Without the intervention, he would not have had much time left to live.
