Abandoned Pregnant Dog Gives Birth to Ten Puppies While Tied to a Tree – Volunteers Race to Rescue Missing Newborns
Volunteers are urgently searching for three missing puppies after a heavily pregnant dog, now named Misty, was abandoned and gave birth while tied to a tree.
The five-year-old Staffie, originally called Lola, was bred by her owner for puppies. After she gave birth, her owner took most of the puppies to sell, leaving Misty behind.
Carla Lane Animals, a local rescue charity, described the owner’s actions as “despicable,” explaining that two puppies were kept while the rest were hidden at another location.
So far, five of the missing puppies have been found, along with the two recovered from the owner’s home.
However, three puppies remain missing in Liverpool’s Wigan and Leigh area. The charity is continuing its search, hoping to locate them soon.
Five rescued puppies—Frisco, Ranger, Josie, Jazz, and Evie—are now available for adoption. A Carla Lane Animals’ Facebook post announced that the pups had received their vaccinations, microchips, and health checks. Currently fostered, they are looking for permanent homes.
The post outlines the requirements for adopting these nine-week-old crossbreed puppies, stating that potential adopters should be ready to train and socialize them. Long-term commitment is essential, and the adoption fee covers neutering when the time comes.
Homes with another neutered dog, dog-savvy cats, and children aged 12 and over are welcome to apply, but it’s crucial that someone is home most of the day to care for the puppies.
The charity recently shared a positive update, revealing that volunteers had successfully located three more puppies.
“Due to the determination of one woman and her team, three more pups have been recovered and are now safe,” a post read.
The charity also confirmed that the owner responsible for abandoning Misty had been tracked down and still possessed two puppies.
There is a belief that additional puppies may be hidden at another address, and the organization is urging anyone with information to come forward.
“This behavior has no place in society,” the post continued, condemning the cruelty Misty and her puppies faced.
An RSPCA spokesperson expressed concern about the situation: “We are relieved that Misty and some of her puppies are now safe in the care of Carla Lane Animals in Need. If anyone has information about Misty or her remaining puppies, we urge them to contact the RSPCA at 0300 1234 999.”
