Heroic Nursing Dog Mom Leads Rescuer to Her Abandoned Puppies in Puerto Rico Forest

In the heart of a Puerto Rican forest, a dedicated dog rescuer, Ashley Boggs, encountered a touching scene that would stay with her forever.

Spotting a distressed canine darting towards passing cars, she sensed an urgency, unlike any other stray encounter. This brown, desperate dog wasn’t seeking food or shelter for herself—she was on a mission to save her newborn pups.

As Ashley approached, it became clear that the dog, later named Goji, was a nursing mother desperately seeking help for her vulnerable family. Abandoned in the wilderness without sustenance, she had taken it upon herself to seek aid.

Alongside Goji, she discovered two pups initially and, with determination, uncovered four more nestled near the box where they had been abandoned.

As the puppies acclimated, they were given names inspired by their forest ordeal: Raspberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Cloudberry, Blackberry, and Strawberry.

With each passing day, Goji’s trust grew, embracing her role as a beacon of joy for all she encountered. Her gentle nature endeared her to volunteers and adopters, making her a cherished favorite.

In a heartening turn of events, the Berry family, once forsaken in the wilderness, found their forever homes, each pup embraced by loving families eager to provide a lifetime of happiness.
