Wobbly Cat Finds Perfect Companion in Tripod Kitten, and They’re Inseparable

A kitten named Bibby, who lost one of his legs, found a forever family and an unexpected best friend after being rescued by Salem Friends of Felines in Oregon.

Bibby was discovered with a severely injured front leg near a house and was taken to the rescue for medical help. At just two months old, he underwent surgery to amputate the damaged leg, but his resilient spirit remained intact. Bibby quickly adjusted to life on three paws, always eager for affection and attention.

One of the shelter workers, Kayla, was immediately taken with Bibby after he captured her heart. “When I came back to work on Monday, he was there. He spent most of the day sleeping on my lap,” Kayla shared with Love Meow. She couldn’t get him off her mind, and by Tuesday, she knew she had to take him home.

At Kayla’s home was another special cat, Mr. Beesley, who has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition that makes him unsteady on his feet. Mr. Beesley, or “Mr. B,” is full of energy, despite his wobbly movements, and was thrilled when Bibby arrived.

Their first meeting was through the door of Kayla’s room, where both cats eagerly reached their paws underneath, “holding hands” and showing no signs of fear. “They weren’t hissing or growling, and immediately began playing through the door,” Kayla said.

After letting them get used to each other’s scent for a few days, Kayla decided to let them meet properly. She placed Bibby in a carrier and left the door open for Mr. Beesley to come in. As soon as he spotted the newcomer, Mr. B. strutted in with loud meows, eager to inspect the little tripod kitten. When the carrier door opened, the two greeted each other with gentle head bumps and purrs.

“They sniffed each other’s noses and even started grooming each other,” Kayla said. From that point, they became inseparable.

The two cats love chasing toys, running around the house, and taking turns watching each other play. Mr. Beesley, with his boundless energy, sometimes gets so excited that he doesn’t want to stop, but Bibby doesn’t mind. When they need to rest, Bibby curls up on Kayla’s lap for a nap, while Mr. B. sits nearby, watching with contentment.

“I love how Mr. B. will just watch Bibby and smile and purr. It’s the cutest thing. They take turns so well when they both want to play,” Kayla shared.

Though they come from different backgrounds, the two brothers have formed a deep bond. Now, Mr. Beesley has a companion to zoom around with, share toys, and snuggle with as they enjoy their new life together.
