England Stars and Their Adorable Pets: A Touch of Home for Euro 2024
As England’s Euro 2024 team settles into their German camp, they’ve been greeted with a delightful surprise: whimsical portraits of their beloved pet dogs decked out in royal attire, including crowns, ruffs, epaulets, furs, and jewelry.
These charming images adorn the walls of the players’ hotel rooms, serving as a lighthearted reminder of home as they prepare for the tournament.
Alongside these portraits, photos of their families and children have also been displayed, providing comfort during this high-pressure time.
Coach Gareth Southgate’s squad is gearing up for their opening match against Serbia after arriving in Germany on Monday.
England’s official Instagram account shared the AI-generated dog portraits, inviting fans to choose their favorites.
Among the featured pets is Conor Gallagher’s chow chow, Freddie, who sports a gem-studded gold crown, a purple robe, and a chunky necklace.
Freddie, a social media star in his own right, has an Instagram account managed by Gallagher’s girlfriend, Aine May Kennedy, showcasing his support for the team.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s cavapoo, Rubie, is also featured, looking regal in a pink gown and golden crown. Captain Harry Kane’s chocolate Labrador, Wilson, shines in a vibrant royal purple outfit.
Kane also has another labrador named Brady, both named after American football legends Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.
Lewis Dunk’s cockapoos are similarly dressed, one wearing golden epaulettes and the other in a pink gown. Aaron Ramsdale’s chow chow, Blue, also shows off some stylish epaulettes.
Ramsdale has previously discussed how Blue has been a source of comfort during challenging times in his career, emphasizing the therapeutic nature of walks with his dog.
Football Association staff contacted the players’ families before the tournament, requesting clear pictures of their dogs. Images of other pets, including some cats, were accepted for those without dogs.
The dog portraits were created using AI technology, printed, and framed before an advanced team hung them in the players’ rooms just days before the squad’s arrival.
This thoughtful initiative adds a personal touch to the players’ experience, reminding them of home as they embark on their journey in the tournament.
