“It’s Like Walking with a Celebrity”: Woman’s 70kg Dog Stands Taller Than Most Londoners

Isidora Saveljic, a 25-year-old content creator from London, describes her life with Pasha, her impressive Turkish Kangal who weighs 70kg and stands 6 feet 1 inch tall on his hind legs.

She humorously remarks, “It’s like walking with a celebrity,” as people frequently stop her in the streets to take photos with him.

A former senior PR account executive, Isidora adopted Pasha two years ago. Initially a small puppy, he has grown into a large dog that constantly draws attention.

“If I had a pound for every time someone asked if he were a horse, I’d be a millionaire,” she shared with PA Real Life.

Walking Pasha is a daily routine that takes up to three hours, during which she feeds him a nutritious diet of raw meat, fish, and vegetables—approximately 1.3kg a day.

Since leaving her PR job in May, Isidora has dedicated her time to building their brand on social media, rapidly growing her Instagram following from 200 to 7,000 in just a month, with her most popular video nearing three million views.

Isidora aims to change perceptions of the Turkish Kangal breed, which is often misrepresented online. “Many portray them as aggressive, but Pasha is anything but,” she emphasized. “He’s like a king in London, enjoying his Puppuccino at Starbucks and eating raw beef.”

According to The Kennel Club, Turkish Kangals are dominant and active, originally bred for guarding sheep.

Isidora had always wanted a large, protective dog, and after researching, she found the Kangal to be a perfect fit. She describes Pasha as a family member, saying, “I love him so much. He’s literally like my child.”

When Pasha was a puppy, he was a mere speck, but he quickly grew, resembling a fully grown Labrador by three months old. He measures about 104cm (3ft 4in) tall on all fours.

While his size may suggest aggression, Isidora describes him as gentle and independent, with a surprisingly powerful bark.

Pasha enjoys socializing and often travels with Isidora on the Tube to pubs and cafes. Despite some people avoiding him due to his size, many stopped to take photos, and he has become a local celebrity. “Everyone knows my dog’s name; no one knows my name,” she quipped.

Isidora enjoys the community aspect of walking Pasha but stresses the importance of setting boundaries and educating others about dog etiquette.

She aims to dispel misconceptions about large dogs, which motivated her transition into content creation.

Her most viewed Instagram video showcases how she prepares Pasha’s meals, which include chicken and beef mince, oily fish, and vegetables, costing her around £80 to £100 per month.

Isidora also emphasizes that Pasha enjoys a variety of foods, including sandwiches and plain pasta, demonstrating his diverse palate.

While she appreciates the interest of her followers, Isidora faces negative comments regarding Pasha’s raw diet and even sexist remarks about her ability to handle a dog of his size.

Nevertheless, she finds empowerment in her relationship with Pasha, giving her a sense of protection and strength.

Isidora plans to continue creating educational and entertaining content featuring Pasha to position him as a “feminist icon.” She hopes to eventually start her own business to address gaps in the pet industry for larger breeds.

“My whole message is to be educated, especially with bigger dogs,” she concluded. “Enjoy the experience and truly live it—having Pasha is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.”
