Rescued White Puppy Buckley Finds Hope After Being Tied to a Pole for Days
In Santa Monica, California, a heart-wrenching scene unfolded as a beautiful white Husky puppy was found tied to a pole, suffering from mistreatment.
This six-month-old pup, named Buckley, endured daily harassment from homeless individuals but remarkably never lost his hopeful spirit.
One fateful day, Buckley’s life took a turn for the better. A local rescuer spotted him and was appalled by his condition.
Without hesitation, she intervened and brought him to the safety of Love Leo Rescue, a local animal rescue organization.
The staff at Love Leo Rescue were impressed by Buckley’s resilience and cheerful demeanor despite his ordeal.
“Buckley is an exceptional dog,” stated Sasha Abelson, director of Love Leo Rescue, in an interview with The Dodo. “He is well balanced and loving and didn’t let his previous experiences change his lovely personality.”
The rescue team provided Buckley with the love and care he needed to heal physically and emotionally. His positive energy quickly won over the hearts of everyone at the center.
Buckley’s stay at the rescue was short-lived, as his story touched the heart of a woman named Angela, who decided to foster him.
The bond between Buckley and Angela was instant, and he adapted quickly to his new, loving environment. For Buckley, this foster home was a paradise compared to his previous life.
“Buckley is a typical, happy-go-lucky husky,” Abelson noted. “He loves playing with his dog friends and learning new skills. He enjoys hikes and cuddling with his humans. He is just a perfect family dog.”
Beyond his role as a foster pet, Buckley played a crucial part in Angela’s recovery from PTSD. “Buckley is such a great dog! He has helped me in my recovery. He needs to be active and have a routine, which is what I need, too,” Angela shared on Instagram.
Buckley is searching for his forever home, ideally with an active family and another playful dog. Given his charming personality and loving nature, Abelson is optimistic about his future.
“Buckley would love to go into a home that is active and preferably a home with another playful, balanced dog,” Abelson added. “We think a dog brother or sister would be wonderful for him.”
With his inner and outer beauty, it’s only a matter of time before Buckley finds his perfect match and enjoys the happy ending he deserves.
