New Stamps Celebrate Popular Dog Breeds in the UK
Royal Mail has introduced a new set of stamps featuring some of the UK’s most beloved dog breeds.
The collection includes images of ten breeds: Dalmatian, Jack Russell-type terrier, Labrador Retriever, Border Collie, Whippet, Siberian Husky, Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and Pug.
Royal Mail highlighted the popularity of dogs worldwide, noting that more people own dogs than any other pet, with a third of UK households having a furry friend.
David Gold, Royal Mail’s Director of External Affairs and Policy, remarked, “British people are known for their love of animals, especially dogs. We hope these beautiful stamps bring added joy when they arrive in people’s letterboxes and remind customers to keep their cherished pets in another room when collecting mail.”
The stamp release was developed in collaboration with Tamsin Pickeral, an animal expert and author of books such as The Dog: 5,000 Years of the Dog in Art and The Spirit of the Dog.
The new stamps and various collectible products are now available for purchase. Royal Mail’s Dog Awareness Week will also occur during the first week of July.
