Man Rescues Abandoned Cats, Discovers One Has Kittens

A compassionate man named Samuel rescued a group of abandoned cats who had lost the only home they had ever known. Little did he know one of the cats was about to give birth.

During a working visit, Samuel encountered distressed cats and found them scared, hungry, and thirsty in a yard.

“He gave them some water, and they lapped it right up,” shared Chatons Orphelins Montreal. Samuel quickly went to a convenience store to buy canned food, which the cats devoured immediately.

Realizing the cats couldn’t stay there, Samuel decided to take action. He borrowed a humane trap and returned to the site with more food.

One by one, he managed to capture all seven cats and bring them to his home, hoping to find a rescue organization that could help.

He brought the sickest cat to Chatons Orphelins Montreal for immediate care. Meanwhile, he looked after the other six at his house.

To his surprise, one of the cats, Lilah, gave birth to three kittens. Samuel’s house was already crowded, and Lilah, a shy mother, needed a calm environment to care for her newborns.

Chatons Orphelins Montreal stepped in again and arranged a foster home for Lilah and her kittens, who were just ten days old and underweight.

Volunteers placed Lilah on a nutrient-rich diet to improve her milk supply, and soon the kittens began to thrive.

“Their foster family takes wonderful care of them and weighs the kittens daily. There are two girls, Dottie and Iris, and one boy, Narcisse,” the rescue shared.

Although timid at first, Lilah slowly began to accept help. She started taking treats from her foster family and gradually became more comfortable.

With time, she learned to step away from her kittens to rest while her little ones explored their surroundings.

Now, Lilah spends her days lounging with her kittens, keeping them clean and teaching them essential feline skills.

The kittens have grown rapidly and are learning to eat independently, though they still seek comfort from their mom.

Thanks to Samuel and the dedicated volunteers, the kittens grew up surrounded by love and care.

At two months old, they have entered their playful phase, full of energy and curiosity. While they run, jump, and wrestle, Lilah watches proudly, slowly starting to focus on herself and appreciating the affection she receives from her human caregivers.
