When a tiny, charming puppy named Jammy arrived at Marin Humane, an independent nonprofit rescue in Novato, California, he quickly became a favorite among the staff.

Despite his health challenges, Jammy’s delightful personality and endearing smile won everyone over.

Meet Jammy

Jammy was surrendered to the Novato shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. At 17.6 pounds, Jammy was significantly overweight for his small frame, which should ideally be around ten pounds.

His excess weight made it difficult for him to move, so he enjoyed being carried around by the shelter staff.

Beyond his weight issues, Jammy had another serious health problem. He was found to have 13 bladder stones that needed immediate removal.

Despite these health concerns, Jammy remained cheerful and loving, eager to interact with everyone he met.

Julia Lamont, the social media and marketing specialist at Marin Humane, described Jammy to The Dodo: “Jammy is a charming, funny little dude. He’s friendly, easy-going, and social with everyone he’s met. He also has some silly quirks; for example, he’s enjoyed playing with a cat wand toy! He’s gone through lots of handling in his time at our shelter due to his health issues, and he’s been a superstar through all of it.”

Looking for a Home

After his surgery to remove the bladder stones, Jammy recuperated in a loving foster home. The nurturing environment sped up his recovery, and Jammy soon returned to the shelter, ready to find his forever home.

While at the shelter, he steadily loses weight and dreams of an active family to help him become healthier.

Jammy is an expert snuggler who loves sunlit walks and will pull his human companion in whatever direction he desires.

He is also quite vocal during mealtimes, ensuring everyone knows his thoughts on the food he’s given.

Having lived with other animals, Jammy would thrive with a furry sibling for companionship and playful adventures.

This adorable and gentle pup is looking for a loving family to give him the happy, healthy life he deserves.
