A young cat rescued from a construction site has shown an incredible transformation after only a few weeks in a nurturing environment.

This scruffy kitten was discovered behind a tire at the job site just over a month ago. She was in poor condition, emaciated, infested with fleas, and missing a significant amount of fur.

The rescuers contacted Deej, co-founder of Inked Kittens Club, for assistance. “When she arrived at my home that afternoon, it was evident that she was very ill,” Deej recounted to Love Meow.

Named Furby, the kitten utilized every ounce of her strength to eat and fight for survival. Despite her struggles, she possessed an unyielding spirit, purring and kneading her paws as she relished the newfound safety and affection from her caretaker.

Furby was determined to overcome her challenges, and with intensive daily care, her health improved.

After a week of receiving fluids, syringe-feeding, and medication, Furby regained her appetite and her zest for life. “When she started eating alone, I knew we were finally getting her back on track,” Deej said.

Initially, Furby stayed close to her bed, only leaving to use the litter box. However, one day, she ventured out and trusted her new companions. “Once she recognized us as friends, we became inseparable,” Deej shared.

Due to severe malnutrition, Furby had lost considerable fur on her chest, legs, and tail. As she continued gaining weight, her fur slowly grew back, revealing her playful and charming personality.

“She has two expressions: a grumpy flat brow and an adorable tongue out. The more I watch her, the funnier and cuter she becomes,” Deej noted.

With her newfound energy, Furby started playing and seeking more attention. “She prioritizes pets over food.

If I’m not giving her enough affection, she’ll gently reach out with her paw to grab my hand, all while sticking out her tongue. This kitten has a big personality,” Deej laughed.

Furby quickly bonded with other cats, enthusiastically showing them how to play with toys. Through these interactions, she learned to engage appropriately and respect boundaries.

“Chasing me around the house remains her favorite activity. Deej explained that she adores her stuffed animals, asserting her dominance over her toy snake each night,” Deej explained.

At about three months old, Furby’s ear tufts have grown longer. “Her bald spots are filling in beautifully, and she has made significant progress in socializing, even if she still enjoys playfully chasing our feet,” Deej added.

It’s astonishing that Furby was a scraggly little creature with little fur just a few weeks ago. Today, she has blossomed into a beautiful young cat full of energy and spirit. “With her goofy head and unique coat, I couldn’t be more enamored with her,” Deej concluded.
