A Dog’s First Nap on a Cozy Bed After a Life Outdoors
Sundae, a beagle-Labrador mix, spent her early life in the harsh conditions of a junk-filled backyard and a frigid garage.
Rescued by the Country Roads Animal Rescue Society from a hoarding situation in Oklahoma City, Sundae had given birth to puppies without ever experiencing the comfort of a proper home.
However, everything changed when her adoptive mother introduced her to the concept of a bed. As Sundae settled onto the soft mattress for the first time, relief washed over her face, and she finally felt safe enough to rest.
Her foster mother chose the name “Sundae” because it perfectly captures her vibrant personality and the beautiful colors on her face that resemble chocolate, vanilla, and caramel.
Initially, Sundae was apprehensive around men, but she began to warm up after her foster mother left a pair of her boyfriend’s shorts on the bed—now Sundae’s favorite spot.
Today, Sundae is thriving. She loves to cuddle with her mother whenever she can. “She would rather sleep on me as much as possible,” her foster mother, Mugglequeen, shared. “I think it makes up for years of not receiving any affection.”
After enduring a life of neglect, Sundae finally receives the medical attention she deserves. Her veterinarian discovered that she has heartworms and requires treatment, but she remains in good health overall.
Meanwhile, Sundae’s adorable puppies are in foster care with loving families. Sundae patiently awaits the moment she finds her perfect forever home, where she can be loved and cherished. Hopefully, her future family will be ready to welcome this sweet mama dog into their lives for plenty of cuddles.
