No animal should face cruelty, but this is a harsh reality for many pets. A dog in Mexico City experienced this firsthand, as he was regularly left chained outside his family’s home, even in severe weather conditions.

In a heart-wrenching video, the dog was seen trying to protect himself during a heavy rainstorm with hail.

Curled up tightly, he attempted to shield himself from the cold. Despite the harsh conditions, his owners seemed indifferent to his suffering.

Disturbed by the scene, a concerned neighbor recorded the footage and shared it on Twitter, hoping that authorities would take action.

Thanks to this, the situation quickly drew attention. Letty Varela, an official from the Animal Control Brigade, responded via Twitter, confirming that her team had successfully intervened.

“Officers from Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security’s Animal Control Brigade acted swiftly,” Varela stated. “The dog has been rescued from those terrible conditions and is now receiving medical care from our team of veterinarians. Enough with animal cruelty.”

In a follow-up post, Varela celebrated the dog’s transformation, expressing her gratitude to her colleagues. “It’s a joy to see this dog now calm, loved, and happy. His future is much brighter thanks to the dedication of our team.”

The once-abandoned dog now has a second chance, with the promise of a better life ahead.
