Formerly Unwanted Cat Finds New Life and Purpose with Caring Vet Team
Buggy, a 15-year-old cat, was brought to a veterinary clinic after his family decided they no longer wanted him. Despite his age, Buggy was in good health and quickly won over the staff with his friendly demeanor.
Upon learning about Buggy’s situation, the veterinary team refused to let him down. They stepped in to rescue him, providing him a chance for a better life. Buggy’s confident personality allowed him to charm everyone at the clinic almost immediately.
“He stayed with the receptionists at the front desk, following them everywhere,” Celine from Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.
During his time at the clinic, Buggy became a beloved presence, greeting patients and their families while offering gentle purrs and snuggles to the staff.
With his tail held high, he acted like the perfect little assistant, bringing joy to everyone around him.
“Other animals didn’t bother him at all. Buggy was so sweet and only asked for attention. He happily let anyone pick him up and hold him,” Celine added.
While Buggy is generally in good shape, he does have a slight weakness in his back legs. X-rays revealed no significant issues, just a bit of a “grandpa’s gait,” as his back legs sometimes slip.
A volunteer from the rescue took Buggy home to foster, and he quickly made himself home. “He has a cat-dog personality and likes to follow his people everywhere. He takes every opportunity to seek affection. He’s friendly with everyone, even cats and dogs,” the volunteer noted.
Buggy’s loving and forgiving nature shines through in his interactions with humans. He remains close to his caregivers, ensuring no one feels alone. “He is endearing and so easygoing,” said his foster parent.
Buggy is a calm presence at work, often lounging in a basket while watching the activities around him.
Despite being a senior cat, he still has a playful side. He enjoys catnip toys, rubbing his face against them, and purring joyfully.
Buggy has a charming habit of eating with his paw, delicately picking up kibble like a distinguished gentleman. “He is so gentle and always makes little meows to get attention,” his foster parent shared.
One of Buggy’s favorite pastimes is sunbathing by the window, where he enjoys watching the world go by, including the neighborhood critters.
He has also formed friendships with the other cats in the house, especially the older ones. “He follows the older cats and does everything they do. He wants to be loved by everyone.”
With a few toys, warm sunlight, and good company, Buggy has become a truly happy cat. “He is an absolute sweetheart. He loves getting attention and purrs as soon as we pet him.”
Buggy has been given a second chance at life thanks to the dedicated veterinary team and compassionate volunteers. He is now looking for a forever home where he can be cherished and spoiled endlessly.
