A stray dog who was abandoned while pregnant was found lying helplessly on the streets beside her newborn puppies, barely clinging to life.

This young mother, heartbroken and exhausted, had no choice but to give birth on the streets without food, water, or shelter. Her strength to protect her surviving puppies was the last she had left.

According to her collar, she had been abandoned by her previous owners, likely because they didn’t want to care for a pregnant dog.

Left to fend for herself, she eventually went into labor on a piece of cardboard in a street corner. Tragically, out of the six puppies she birthed, two were born deceased.

When rescuers arrived, the exhausted mother dog still found the strength to defend her puppies. Despite being starved and barely able to stand, she attacked the rescue team three times, mistaking their intentions as harmful.

It took considerable effort to capture her safely and transport her and her puppies to a shelter where they could receive proper care and support.

Once at the shelter, the rescuers discovered that the mother dog still had enough milk to feed her puppies.

However, she was dangerously underweight and required immediate attention. She ate three times on the day of her rescue, devouring over five pounds of food to replenish her depleted energy.

The puppies began to thrive within 48 hours, opening their eyes and enjoying the early stages of life.

The mother dog, still showing signs of trauma, remained nervous around humans, but rescuers were patient and hopeful that she would eventually learn to trust again.

Thanks to the dedicated work of the rescue team, she and her puppies were saved from certain starvation and given a new lease on life.

This rescue story is a reminder of the harsh realities faced by stray animals and the importance of compassionate people who step up to help.

While it’s impossible to save every stray dog, even small acts of kindness, like donating food or supporting animal shelters, significantly reduce the suffering of homeless animals.

With more people willing to help, fewer dogs would have to endure this mother dog’s hardships.
