Dogs in shelters experience joy when they’re about to be adopted, anticipating a fresh start and a loving home. Wall-E, a Labrador mix, was no exception. He was over the moon when he found his new family in 2015.

Unfortunately, Wall-E’s happiness was short-lived. After a brief time with his new owners, he was returned to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC), heartbroken and confused.

The shelter staff was saddened to see Wall-E back, especially since he brought his bed, toys, and a heart whole of pain.

According to a statement by MCACC on Facebook, the family who returned Wall-E was devastated, and they surrendered him because they felt it was best for him.

The shelter pleaded with the public not to blame his previous owners, emphasizing that the decision was not taken lightly.

“His family surrendered him because they did not have enough time for him. He was terrified. He would bark and bark in his kennel,” explained the shelter manager.

Despite Wall-E’s confusion and fear, the shelter quickly listed him for adoption, hoping to find him a new home where he could heal.

A photo of Wall-E, taken when he was surrendered, quickly went viral. It showed the dog with all his belongings, a poignant reminder of the heartbreak he was experiencing.

Fortunately, Wall-E was a well-trained and friendly dog, making him an excellent candidate for adoption.

His charming personality and good behavior quickly increased his chances of finding a new family.

Lynn Lee, a dog lover with a big heart, stepped in to adopt Wall-E. The connection was instant; she quickly became part of her family, even getting along with her other dog.

Wall-E’s new life is filled with fun days at the park, naps in the sun, and the love of a family that treasures him. He’s found his forever home, and he won’t be returning to the shelter again.
