On a rainy day, Alyssa, a dedicated volunteer at Puppy Kitty NY City, received an urgent photo of a young kitten needing rescue.

The tiny feline had been left alone in a building stairwell, accompanied only by a small cup of water and food.

A concerned neighbor had knocked on doors to find help but was met with indifference from those moving away. “He was told they didn’t want the cat,” Alyssa recounted.

As Alyssa was leaving the shelter, she quickly made her way to the location. However, upon arrival, she couldn’t spot the kitten.

“I thought someone took him, or he ran out because the stairway led to two open doors out of the building where it was pouring,” she explained.

Determined to find him, Alyssa called out for the kitten until she noticed a slight movement on a pressure gauge above her. Always prepared, she pulled out some treats, which piqued the kitten’s curiosity.

Though hesitant, the little one crept closer, drawn by the enticing smell. “It made him curious enough to peek out, allowing me to climb up and scruff him,” she said.

Once in Alyssa’s foster home, the worries that clouded the kitten’s eyes quickly faded. Jardani began to purr almost immediately, transforming from a scared little creature into a loving cuddle bug.

Within hours, he was kneading a blanket and purring joyfully, closing his eyes in bliss as Alyssa gave him gentle chin scratches.

Feeling secure, Jardani rolled onto his back, inviting his foster mom to rub his fluffy belly. His playful spirit soon re-emerged as he batted at toys excitedly, then curled up for cuddles when he needed rest.

“When he wants love, he just looks for my lap or tries to jump up,” Alyssa noted. “He gets completely floppy. This boy is pure love.”

Jardani quickly gained confidence, even sitting on the coffee table, a testament to his growing comfort in his new environment.

His introduction to the other foster cats in the home was a success; he immediately bonded with them, eagerly following their every move.

No matter how energetically he played, he remained a gentle soul with his human and feline companions.

Among the other cats was DJ Mittens, who is a bit wobbly. Jardani often showed affection by wrapping his arm around him and thoroughly washing his face. He also took Monchichi under his wing, showcasing his impressive swiping skills and high jumps.

“Jardani and Monchi love chasing each other around, and they often wrestle with Mitts, who enjoys all the attention,” Alyssa described. “The three of them are always grooming each other, which is so sweet, even if it sometimes leads to wrestling matches.”

Monchi and Mitts are becoming bolder and more playful, trying to keep pace with Jardani’s endless energy, creating a delightful dynamic of daily adventures.

“Not only is he adorable, but he has the funniest meows, needs cuddles, and shows off his new skills daily.”

Although Alyssa had not intended to take in another foster, she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Jardani to fend for himself.

Now, he is thriving among his new friends, racing around, leaping high, and snuggling close, enjoying a carefree life filled with love and companionship.
