Sundae the Dog Takes Her First Comfortable Nap After a Life of Hardship
Sundae, a mix of beagle and Labrador retriever has spent her life confined to a backyard filled with junk and a cold garage.
Rescued by the Country Roads Animal Rescue Society from a hoarding situation in Oklahoma City, Sundae has endured hardships, including giving birth to puppies without the comfort of a proper home.
Her life turned positive when her adoptive mother introduced her to the concept of a soft bed. As Sundae settled down for her first nap, her face lit up with relief, a sign that she finally felt safe.
Her foster mother named her “Sundae” to reflect her vibrant personality and the beautiful colors on her face, reminiscent of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel.
Initially hesitant around men, Sundae began to trust them after her foster mother left a pair of her boyfriend’s shorts on the bed, which became Sundae’s special spot.
Today, Sundae thrives and loves cuddling with her foster mother whenever possible. “She would rather sleep on me as much as possible,” her foster mother shared on social media. “I think it makes up for years of not receiving any affection.”
After years of neglect, Sundae finally receives the medical care she needs. Although she was diagnosed with heartworm and requires treatment, she is otherwise generally healthy.
Meanwhile, her adorable puppies are being fostered by loving families. Sundae patiently waits for the right family to come along, hoping to find a home where she can continue spreading love and cuddling.
With her charming personality, it won’t be long before someone opens their heart to this sweet mama dog.
