Meet Salvador Dolly: The Mustachioed Puppy Looking for a Forever Home
There’s something irresistible about puppies—their playful antics, fluffy bellies, and charming woofs make them undeniably adorable.
And then there are puppies like Salvador Dolly, a one-of-a-kind cutie with a striking handlebar mustache that sets her apart from the pack.
Salvador Dolly is part of a litter of 11 puppies currently in foster care in New York, thanks to the efforts of Hearts and Bones Rescue.
The rescue organization worked with Dallas Animal Services, which took in Dolly’s mother and her 11 puppies as strays.
Due to the high risk of illness in the shelter environment, Hearts and Bones Rescue knew they needed to get the family out quickly.
Allison Seelig, a representative from the rescue, explained, “It’s puppy season in Dallas right now, and there are always multiple moms with litters at the shelter. We knew we had to get them out.”
The family of 12 was relocated to foster care within a week, receiving medical care and monitoring until the puppies were old enough to be weaned.
Currently, the puppies are only five weeks old and are still nursing. Despite their young age, they’re active and playful, and their mother is doing well.
The plan is to move the puppies to separate foster homes in New York City later in August, where they will be available for adoption.
Seelig notes that while Salvador Dolly has garnered much attention due to her unique mustache, her siblings are just as adorable and still looking for homes.
Hearts and Bones Rescue is seeking foster families in the NYC area to welcome these puppies when they arrive.
Additionally, donations are needed to cover the costs of caring for this family of 12 and other dogs in need.
Hearts and Bones Rescue is a foster-based dog rescue with teams in Dallas and New York City. They collaborate with overcrowded shelters, sometimes taking in over 100 animals daily.
The organization aims to save many lives and ensure dogs find loving homes.
Seelig explained, “Once our dogs leave the shelter, we send them to foster homes in the Dallas area for a couple of weeks to ensure they’re healthy, and then transport them to NYC, where the number of people wanting to adopt dogs is incredibly high!”
Donations to Hearts and Bones Rescue help support this vital work, with every dollar contributing to the care of animals in need.
