A small stray kitten was spotted meowing and darting across a busy street, desperately trying to avoid traffic and find a hiding place.

Several nearby residents heard her distress calls and rushed to help. “Alone and panicking, she was lost without her mother,” shared Chatons Orphelins Montreal. “Many people quickly took action to rescue her.”

When they found the frightened kitten, she was hiding under a car, too scared to emerge. The rescuers surrounded the vehicle, lying on the ground while offering her food to coax her out.

As soon as she caught a whiff of the food, she dashed toward it, hungry and eager despite her fear.

One of the rescuers managed to grab her just as she attempted to escape. “Fortunately, she was secured and brought to safety,” the group reported.

Named Claudie, the kitten was in dire condition, malnourished, and weighed barely a pound. Though visibly shaken from her experience, she quickly began eating the food provided.

“She devoured as much as she could and then fell asleep with a full belly. She was fortunate to have a caring group of people who saved her life.”

Chatons Orphelins Montreal took Claudie in, providing her medical attention and a nurturing foster home.

They treated her for fleas and gastrointestinal issues. At just two months old, Claudie had much growing to do.

Gradually, with gentle petting and encouragement, Claudie began to relax. She offered slow blinks and let her foster mom wrap her in a warm blanket.

As she became more comfortable, her purring returned, and within days, she grew more confident, transforming into a loving companion.

“Claudie is very expressive and has an insatiable appetite. She has gained strength and is now content in her foster home.”

After a few weeks of proper care and nutrition, Claudie had filled out nicely and caught up in size. “She is sweet and playful, following her humans around with curiosity about their activities. Her energy is boundless, and she turns anything that moves into a toy.”

Whether chasing feathers or playing with crinkle balls, Claudie can entertain herself for hours.

Though tiny, she has a big personality. If she feels ignored, she meows to get attention and prefers to sleep close to her humans, often nestled against their faces or in the crook of their necks at night. In the mornings, she playfully wakes them by licking their noses.

Claudie’s purring starts the moment she is petted, and she eagerly anticipates every play session with her foster family. She is vocal about her desires, often expressing her thoughts loudly when doors are closed.

“Claudie loves being with her humans all the time. She enjoys lounging by the window, watching the world outside, and if she catches a whiff of food, she is quick to come running.”

What began as a dangerous life on the streets has become a joyful adventure for Claudie, who is now thriving in her loving foster home and living out her dreams.
