Deaf Pit Bull Survives Bee Stings and Finds a Forever Home After Being Abandoned
A deaf Pit Bull named Stinger was recently rescued after a traumatic encounter with thousands of bees.
Despite surviving the painful attack, he was abandoned by his family at a local shelter, leaving him in critical condition and at risk of being euthanized.
Stinger was brought to the shelter with severe blisters caused by the bee stings. His condition was so grave that the shelter had planned to put him down.
That’s when Carri Shipaila, founder of LuvnPupz rescue in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, stepped in to help. After learning about Stinger’s dire situation, she quickly drove to the shelter to rescue him.
Despite her efforts, Stinger’s original family refused to take him back. Shipaila immediately began treating him for the bee stings, a skin infection, and sarcoptic mange.
Unfortunately, Stinger also developed Pemphigus, an autoimmune disease that will require lifelong management.
Because of the high costs and complexity of his care, Stinger is not available for adoption. However, he has found a loving forever home with a foster family and will continue to receive care and therapy through LuvnPupz.
Stinger has made an incredible transformation since his rescue. His once-painful blisters are gone, revealing a beautiful white coat.
He is now thriving in his new home, where he is a happy and playful dog enjoying life with his new family.
