Rescued Gray Kitten Scrunkle Quickly Becomes a Cuddle Bug
A neighbor discovered a gray kitten nestled in the corner of a flower garden, and after bringing him inside, he quickly revealed his charming personality and affectionate demands.
Last weekend, Stephanie Grantham, the founder of Sparkle Cat Rescue, spotted the small gray kitten at a vet clinic.
“He weighed only 1.46 pounds and was happily rolling around and showing off,” Stephanie told Love Meow.
The kitten, named Scrunkle, is about 4 to 5 weeks old and has already faced many challenges before finding safety.
His story began when Clara, an independent animal rescuer, received a call from a neighbor who spotted something unusual while mowing the lawn.
Noticing a small, furry figure in his wife’s flower garden, the neighbor approached to find a gray kitten gazing up at him with pleading eyes. The little stray had been wandering the streets until he ended up in the neighbor’s yard.
Upon seeing Scrunkle, Clara was quick to help; he didn’t run away but welcomed her approach. She gently lifted him from the flower bed and cradled him.
Immediately, Scrunkle seemed at ease, leaning into Clara for comfort. She took him home, comforted, and fed him before bringing him to the clinic the next morning.
Scrunkle was ecstatic to receive attention at the clinic, meowing excitedly until someone picked him up for cuddles.
Recognizing that he needed a foster home, Stephanie offered to take him to his new caretakers, Erin and Lauren.
“Scrunkle didn’t want to be in the carrier, so I held him in my lap, wrapped in a towel the whole way. All he wanted was snuggles,” Stephanie recalled.
Although he was flea-ridden, dehydrated, and somewhat lethargic, he always wanted to be near people.
After receiving treatment and a thorough cleaning, he curled up in a warm lap, purring contentedly.
“Within a few hours of drinking water, getting Nutrical, and eating a good meal, he settled in well,” Stephanie noted. After enduring lonely days on the streets, Scrunkle’s purr never seemed to stop.
He became flea-free with proper care and plenty of love, and his digestive issues improved. His affectionate nature grew, and he became increasingly demanding for cuddles.
“He’s just the snuggliest, sweetest little guy. He loves people and wants cuddles all day,” Erin shared. Scrunkle rushes to greet his foster family whenever they enter the room, rubbing his soft fur against their legs. When petted, he flops in bliss, becoming a purring heap of joy.
Scrunkle transformed into a love bug and a purr machine in just a few days with his foster family. He stays close to them, seeking affection when he wakes up, ensuring he receives all the love he desires.
